“Go Straight Until You See a Crosswalk.”

횡단보도가 보일때까지 쭉 걸어가.

길을 알려줄 때 몇 가지 영어 표현을 알아두면 쉽게 설명할 수 있습니다. 대표적인 표현으로는 go straight (계속 앞으로 가다), turn right/left at (~에서 오른쪽/왼쪽으로 돌다), it's ...-minute walk from (~에서 걸어서 ...분 거리입니다)등이 있습니다.

Jinho: Hi, Mira. I’m in front of the theater. We’re supposed to meet here for a play, remember?

Mira: Yeah, I’m almost coming. But I’m afraid I’ll be late a bit. I need to withdraw some cash first. Is there a bank around here? I'm at the bus stop now.

Jinho: Well, walk along the street about one block, and you'll see a bakery.

Mira: Actually, I’ve just passed it by. Now I’m standing in front of a drugstore.

Jinho: Good, turn right at the drugstore and go straight until you see a crosswalk.

Mira: OK. And then? Should I cross the street here?

Jinho: Right. Then you'll see the bank. It is right next to the post office. You can’t miss it.  

Mira: Thanks a lot! But I guess I should call you back to get there to meet you.

진호: 미라야. 나 지금 극장 앞에 있어. 연극 보러 여기서 만나기로 했는데, 기억해?

미라: 응, 거의 다 왔어. 그런데 나 좀 늦을 것 같아. 먼저 현금을 좀 찾아야 해.

      여기 근처에 은행 있어? 나 지금 버스 정류소에 있는데.  

진호: 그럼, 한 블록 정도 거리를 따라 걸으면 빵집이 보일거야.

미라: 사실은 조금 전에 거길 지나왔어. 지금은 약국 앞에 있어.

진호: 좋아, 약국에서 오른쪽으로 돌아서 횡단보도가 보일 때까지 쭉 걸어가.

미라: 알았어. 그 다음엔? 여기서 길을 건너야 해?

진호: 맞아. 그러면 은행이 보일거야. 우체국 바로 옆이야. 틀림없이 찾을 수 있을 거야.

미라: 정말 고마워! 그런데 너 만나러 거기 가려면 다시 전화해야 할 것 같아.
